Аbstract
The issues of involvement of Junior students in optional research work on the basis of the experience of student competitions, scientific and technical conferences, competitions at the Department of "descriptive geometry and graphics" of the Bryansk state technical University are considered. Special attention is paid to the age psychophysiological features of students.
